You Were Made For More

The world is loud. Really loud. Social media, influencers, and even our own friends seem to constantly remind us of what we should be—prettier, more successful, more put-together. We scroll past highlight reels of flawless faces, dream careers, and homes straight out of a Pinterest board. And even though we know it’s all curated, it still hits hard. We start feeling like we’ll never measure up.

But here’s the truth: God never designed you to feel that way.

He created you for a life full of joy, purpose, and confidence—not one ruled by comparison or self-doubt. The world’s standards don’t define your identity. God does. And when you start seeing yourself the way He does, everything changes.

So, let’s talk about who you really are. Listen to what God says about you.

  1. You were created for this moment. (Esther 4:14) Ever wonder why you’re here—like, right now, in this time and place? It’s not random. God placed you here on purpose, for a purpose. Your personality, your talents, even your quirks—He designed it all for a reason. Just like Esther, who stepped into her role as queen “for such a time as this,” God has something specific for you to do. What if today is the day you start stepping into it?

  2. You are chosen. (Ephesians 1:4) Ever felt like the last one picked in gym class? Like everyone else is more talented, more beautiful, more worthy? Yeah, same here. But guess what? The King of the Universe chose you. Not because He had to. Not because there was no one else. But because He wanted you. You’re not a backup plan. You’re handpicked.

  3. You are a child of God. (John 1:12) Read that again. You—yes, you—are the daughter of the King of Kings. That means you’re royalty. You have access to the power of heaven. So when the world tries to tell you that you’re not enough, remember who your Father is. You are more than enough in Him.

  4. You are a conqueror. (Romans 8:37 and 1 Corinthians 15:57) Life is full of battles—temptations, struggles, self-doubt. But you weren’t meant to fight alone. God gives you armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) to help you stand strong. Whether you’re battling stress over an exam, trying to say “no” to something you know isn’t right, or pushing through a tough season, you’re not fighting for victory. You’re fighting from victory. Jesus already won. Walk like it.

  5. You are never alone. (Isaiah 41:10) Loneliness hits different sometimes. But the truth? God is always with you. No matter what you’re walking through—heartbreak, uncertainty, anxiety—He’s right there, holding you up. You don’t have to do life alone. He's right beside you whether you can feel him there or not.

  6. You belong to a better world. (Philippians 3:20) Ever feel like you don’t quite fit in? That’s because you’re not meant to. Your real citizenship is in heaven. This world isn’t your final home. So don’t be surprised if it doesn’t always understand you. When things get tough, remind yourself that this is temporary. The best is yet to come.

  7. You are forgiven. (Ephesians 1:7) Messed up? Been there. But here’s the best news ever: God’s grace is bigger than your mistakes. There is no sin too big for Him to forgive, and nothing too small for Him to care about. All He’s waiting for is for you to turn back to Him instead of going on your merry way. No shame. No condemnation. Just open arms. Not sure if this is true? Read the story of the prodigal son and realize that's a picture of God welcoming you home. (Luke 15:11-32)

You Are Loved. You Are Enough. You Are His.

There are so many more truths in Scripture that speak to who you are in Christ. But for now, let these sink in:

  • God’s got you.

  • He has a plan.

  • He will take care of you.

So, the next time the world tries to tell you who you should be, tune it out. Listen to the One who created you. His voice is the only one that matters.
